Beyond The Code
The advancement of human civilization is the largest subject there is, and a short film is the smallest form that can hold one. Beyond The Code is our own: narrative work, script through final grade, with nothing to point a camera at.

A subject with no location
A documentary crew scouts. There was nothing here to scout, no archive to pull from and no cast to book, so everything in frame is a decision rather than something found. A decision has to be defended; a discovery only has to be captured. That is the whole difference in difficulty.
The tool is not the film
AI short film describes a method, and no method has ever made anything worth watching on its own. What decides a short is the order the images are in and what the last one leaves you holding. That part has never had a shortcut and did not get one here.
No client, and what that removes
No brief to satisfy and no approval round, which sounds like freedom and is mostly exposure: a weak decision has nobody else's name on it, and there is no round of notes to blame it on afterwards. Work made for no one but ourselves is the only honest measure of what a team does when nothing is being asked of it.
