Audacy Beach Fest '22
The first year at a site, half the work is learning where you are allowed to stand. Three days of coverage at Audacy Beach Festival in 2022 meant scouting a live show while shooting it, which is the tax every first year charges.

Scouting a show that is already running
There is no walkthrough of a festival before a festival. Sightlines, chokepoints and which stages are worth the walk all get learned during the set you are already covering, and applied to the next one. The first day pays for the third.
What a first year is actually buying
Past the coverage itself, a first year buys the map: where the light turns, which access gets you the frame and which access only looks like it will. That is an asset the client keeps whether or not the same crew comes back, and it is the half of a first year nobody writes into the scope.
